Getting Prepared for Baby's Arrival

Things Needed to Prepare the Nursery Early

It's a good idea to get the nursery ready early because when your baby arrives you'll have plenty to do like: hug and kiss your baby, smile uncontrollably, show your baby off to relatives and friends, hold your baby close and admire your baby every waking moment. Not to mention diaper changes and lots of feedings. Having the nursery done early will give you peace of mind when you bring your baby home for the first time. Here are some things you need so your nursery will be ready.

  1. Nursery Furniture - You'll need the key essentials for keeping your baby comfy and for storing your baby's accessories including: crib & mattress, chest, dresser, rocker/glider, portable crib & pad, changing table and pad.
  2. Nursery Accessories and Baby Bedding - Be prepared with all your baby accessories including: crib sheets, portable crib sheets, diaper stacker, mobile, lamps and diaper pail.
  3. Baby Feeding Supplies - Your baby will eat OFTEN, so be ready with all your feeding supplies including: high chair and pad, bibs, pacifiers and holder, sterilizer kit, bottle brush, bottle warmer, baby bottles, breast pump set and nursing pads.
  4. Baby Health and Safety Products - Have everything you need to keep your baby healthy and safe including: baby monitor, safety gate, vaporizer, thermometer, nasal aspirator, night light, drawer latches and outlet plugs.
  5. Infant Clothing - Get clothing for daytime, nighttime, cold and hot days including: gowns, one-piece outfits, nighties, sleepers, booties, socks, shoes, receiving blankets, under shirts and coat.
  6. Diapering Essentials - You'll be changing many diapers, so be prepared by stocking up on: newborn diapers, diaper pail, wipes, ointments and lotions.
  7. Play Items - When your baby isn't napping you'll definitely want to have some fun. Having baby play items around will keep you and your baby entertained. Here are a few suggestions: bouncer, rocker, swing, baby toys, activity quilt, activity gym and walker.
